She didn’t wait. She created what she needed. When Eniola moved to Canada, she brought with her a law degree, and a dream to build a meaningful life. But no one was asking for it. No one was waiting.

So she waited tables. Searched for answers. And started to build her own map.

Then, one day, everything shifted. She met two newcomers who told her that her brief five-minute chat was the longest conversation they’d had with anyone since arriving.

That moment changed everything.

“Community is like soil,” she says. “Rich roots don’t grow in silence or shame; they grow in safe ground.” And so she decided to create one.

Introducing: New Roots

A safe space for newcomers to connect, share their stories, and feel seen as they build new lives in Canada.

Through New Roots, Eniola is cultivating community, one conversation at a time.

Her mission isn’t about applause. It’s about belonging. It’s about giving others the welcome she once needed.
