He didn’t reject the label “immigrant.” He rewrote what it means.

Not all immigrants
feel the same.
Dozie came to Canada
with dreams,
skills,
and a voice.
But
everywhere he turned,
they gave him a box:
"Newcomer."
That’s it.
That’s all.
As if one word
could explain
a thousand lived lives.
So he built a platform
not to escape the label,
but to expand it.
To show that
every immigrant
is more than a checkbox.
They are a constellation
of stories,
histories,
and hopes.
Think of culture like soup.
The best ones
aren’t made with one spice
they’re made with many.
That’s what Dozie believes
Canada can become:
a rich broth
of beautiful difference.
Now he helps others
find their voice.
Share their truth.
Build media that reflects
who they really are.
No filters.
No flattening.
Just fullness.
He doesn’t have all the answers.
But he knows the questions
are worth asking.
Do you agree all immigrants
prior experience should be officially
recognized?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Drop your thoughts below.
Give Dozie a follow to learn more about Canadian immigrants.
